Cabi.Chat Graph — Languages and translation
Every card speaks several languages. Each language is its own version of the card: title, teaser and text. One of them is canonical: the original the others are translated from, and the one shown when the reader's language is missing.
What a reader gets. The card in the reader's interface language; if the card has none, the canonical version. Titles of mentioned cards follow the same rule, so a Russian reader sees Russian titles wherever they exist. Cabi.Chat Graph — Handles, mentions and relations
Translation. Platform languages are English, Russian and Spanish. When you save a card, Cabi.Chat can fill the other languages for you:
- Auto — machine translation, free of LLM tokens. Markdown structure is kept: headings, lists, tables, links, bold, code and embedded cards survive as they were.
- LLM — translation by your own translation agenda, chosen in your profile; its instructions set the tone, the glossary and what to keep untranslated. Better for tone and domain words. It is an AI run, paid as AI usage link. Without an agenda it falls back to Auto. link
In both modes, templates and card references in the text pass through untouched. Translation runs in the background after the save; the card itself is already stored.
Your words win. A language you wrote by hand is never overwritten by either mode. Machine translation never overwrites an LLM translation; an LLM translation may refine a machine one. Edit a translated version yourself and it becomes yours.
The language table on the card form shows every language: which one you are looking at, which is canonical (★), which are stored, and which are left to auto-translation. Make any stored language canonical, or tick Auto to have a language filled. Cabi.Chat Graph — Data types
Write once in your language; readers get the card in theirs.
