FE pipeline: Draw boards
Web app as of 2026-11-02
API layer: API pipeline: Draw boards, keep docs and sheets
Goal: draw a board — a free canvas or your cards laid out on a canvas — show any card on a board with the cards linked to it, and keep a board behind your pages, in the web app or the Telegram Mini App.
Steps
- Open Cabinet → My Boards → New.
- Pick the Canvas: Excalidraw (free drawing) or flow-draw (cards on canvas). Add a title and, like any card, content, project, rubrics and visibility. Tap Create.
- The board opens with its Canvas. Draw; every change saves by itself.
- On a flow-draw board tap + Card, then Search your cards or paste a link; pick a result to place it on the canvas. Drag from one card to another to connect them (see «Graph edges» below). Tap a card on the canvas to open it.
- The expand button opens the canvas full screen; Esc closes it.
Show a card on a board
- In any card's menu tap Display on board.
- Under Linked cards check the groups to show around it; each shows how many cards it holds. Nothing checked shows the card alone.
- Under Board pick New board, or a board that already shows this card («view only» when you cannot edit it).
- Open opens the board: the card in the middle and one column per group, kept up to date; a long column loads more as you scroll it. As background puts the board behind the Search page instead.
Show related cards
- On a flow-draw board you may edit, a card's menu → Show related lists what is linked to it under Outgoing and Incoming, with how many cards each group holds; relations come one group per label.
- Tick a group to place its cards around the card; more places the next ones. Untick it to take them off again (cards you moved stay).
- Only cards you may see are listed. Placing them changes this board only, not the cards.
A board as the page background
- On Search and in Cabinet, Edit background turns the background into a board; Done returns to the page. Each of the two pages keeps its own background.
- Without a saved board you draw on a Scratch pad. Signed in, it saves itself as a new private board of yours, named after the page and the time, shortly after you stop drawing and before you switch boards; Save keeps it as a board at once. Signed out: «Not synced until you sign in». Your boards switches to another one; the page link keeps the board you chose.
On the canvas
- Drag across an empty spot to select several items and move them together; Cmd/Ctrl+A selects everything, Delete removes the selection.
- Double-click (or double-tap) an empty spot to write text; Cmd/Ctrl+V pastes copied text as a text block. Text shows as Markdown; its side handles set the width, its corners scale it.
- Two fingers move the board; pinch, or Ctrl + wheel, zooms.
Graph edges
- A flow-draw board shows the graph edges between the cards on it: relations, a workspace's Contains and the links held in the cards' own fields (an agenda's Core, an oracle's Agenda, a campaign's Oracles, …). You see an edge only when you may see both cards, and a card's field only when you may edit that card.
- Drag from one card to another: Connect offers Drawing only (an arrow on this board, the cards stay as they are), Relation (a rubric names the link: Add relation, Rubric of the relation), then the Field of the source card that fit. A field that does not take the target card is greyed with what it takes. A list field adds the card last; a field that holds one card asks before it replaces the card it holds now. An agenda's Route is edited on the agenda's own scene: FE pipeline: Write an agenda for your oracles
- A graph edge changes the cards themselves, not only the board: removing one (Remove the graph edge) changes the source card; Repoint the edge moves an end to another card. Undo and Redo ask first, since live oracles may read the graph.
- The Graph edges legend shows each kind's colour and style; its checkboxes show or hide a kind. A writer's choice is saved as the board's default; viewers toggle kinds for themselves. Text mentions between the cards show as dashed Mentions arrows; they change only with the card's text.
- Several edges between the same two cards are drawn side by side; drag an arrow's end to move it along the card. Cards on the canvas can be resized.
What you see
- In the web app the owner draws; others who can open the board see it read-only.
- Cards placed on a flow-draw board are listed under the board's Mentioned.
- Docs and sheets are made through the API and appear in Search under the Docs and Sheets types.
