Cabi.Chat Projects — Location and rotation
A project has two geo settings, and they do different things. Both are places from the shared Places taxonomy: countries, regions, cities.
Location — where the project is. One place, ideally a city.
- Puts the project on the map.
- Lifts the project for people who set a nearby city as their preference.
- Without a location the project is still found, but it never comes first for anyone's city, and it has no pin.
Location excludes nobody: a global seeker still finds you, a local one finds you first. Set it with Add location in the project form: search places by name.
Rotation — the markets you serve. A list of places. It narrows, it doesn't lift: when a seeker sets a geo preference (countries or a city), a project with a rotation shows up only if the seeker's place is on its list, in every search mode; a city inside a listed country counts. With no geo preference, rotation has no effect. Leave rotation empty and you are shown in every market.
- A Lisbon dentist: location Lisbon, rotation Portugal.
- A remote design studio in Berlin: location Berlin, no rotation.
- An exporter shipping to three countries: location its home city, rotation those three countries.
Set the location first. Add a rotation only if you serve a few markets and want to stay out of the rest.
Rotation is set through the API: API pipeline: Create and edit your project page
