Cabi.Chat Search — Geo filter and preference
Geo has two settings on the seeker's side. They do different things.
The filter decides who is even in the search. It is a place in the rubric filter: a country, a region or a city from the Places taxonomy. Only cards located in that place, or anywhere inside it, stay in the results. Pick Spain, and Madrid and Barcelona are in; Lisbon is out. Cabi.Chat Search — Rubrics and discovery
The preference decides the order. It hides nothing:
- Countries: projects located in the countries you picked come first.
- Location: your city and a radius, from 10 to 1000 km. Projects within the radius come first, nearest first; then projects from your countries; then everything else.
One exception: under a geo preference, projects whose rotation leaves your place out step out of the results. Cabi.Chat Projects — Location and rotation
Use the filter when only one place makes sense: a barber, a venue, a local event. Use the preference when local is better but distance is not a deal-breaker: a tutor who also works online, a consultant.
